Dr. Rajeshwar was born in Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh to Late Sh. Ran Bahadur Singh and Smt. Tara Singh on 11th March, 1973. Born after a brother and two sisters, his childhood was spent amidst love and prosperity.
Did his high-school studies from the reputed – Lady Fatima School, Aligarh. He was recognized as a brilliant student throughout.
Completed his Intermediate studies from the famous – Colvin Talukdar College, Lucknow. Not only was he a brilliant student, Rajeshwar had a keen interest in sports and arts as well. He completed his graduation in Mining Engineering from IIT Dhanbad. He always earned praises with his participation in artistic activities, speeches and debate competitions.
Got selected in Uttar Pradesh Police (Provincial Police Service) after graduation. In the early days of his service, he felt the need to bring social consciousness in the service and to fulfill this objective, he tried to connect the rules and principles of famous social scientists with the police services.
In order to link the principles and doctrines of well-known sociologists with the police force and to make it compatible with the demands of the times, he completed his post-graduation in Sociology in 2003.
Encountered more than 30 dangerous and most wanted criminals and either eliminated them or sent them behind bars.
Was awarded the ‘President’s Gallantry Medal’, the highest award for gallantry in police service, by the then President Late Sh. A.P.J Abdul Kalam.
Transferred under a political conspiracy, which was later considered a violation by the Hon’ble Allahabad High Court.
Was sent on deputation to ED by the Central Government.
During his tenure at ED, he investigated many scams like 2G Spectrum, Commonwealth, Coal scam. The country’s eminent white collar criminals like political leaders, businessmen, industrialists and bureaucrats came under scrutiny was brought to book. Former Home Minister, P. Chidambaram and his son Karti Chidambaram were also sent behind the bars.
Wrote a research paper on Human Rights – Police and Social Justice (a social scientific study based on District Allahabad).
In his thesis, he started a new type of dialogue by portraying a live description of rights of police personnel, protection of human rights and working conditions of police personnel. After this he received the Doctorate in Philosophy.
Government of India was directed by the Hon’ble Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) to relieve Dr. Rajeshwar Singh from deputation and permanently absorb him in ED.
Failing to comply on these orders in 2014 the Hon’ble Supreme Court severely reprimanded the Central Government and ordered Dr. Rajeshwar Singh’s absorbtion in ED within 3 days.
During the course of investigating the 2G scam, Dr. Rajeshwar Singh completed his LLB.
Volunteered for a retirement (VRS – Voluntary Retirement Scheme) while serving as the Joint Director in ED (Lucknow Zone).
